How to Use Google With Cortana In Windows 10

Cortana is an intelligent, beautiful virtual personal assistant created by Microsoft for Windows users. It has been launched as an essential ingredient of Microsoft’s planned “makeover” of the future operating systems for Windows Phone and Windows. It is named after Cortana, a synthetic intelligence character in Microsoft’s Halo video game franchise.
Cortana right now is available to all users of Windows Phone 8.1, Windows 10 (Desktop) and Windows 10 Mobile. But Cortana is an assistant that is only limited to Bing, but I will tell you how to use Google with Cortana for better results.
Cortana is a magnificent virtual assistant with much to offer, but when you have to relay a “Hey Cortana” command to her, she is hard-wired to direct users to Bing. The good news is, if you have Chrome as your default browser, there is a way for you to set Cortana to show you results from Google instead of Bing.
The extension is Chrometana. As the name implies, it is a Chrome extension that is made to work better with Cortana. Upon installing the extension, users will be prompted to set DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, or Google as their default search engine result page when they use Cortana in Windows 10. If you think about it when searching for something a lot of people prefer Google over Bing.

You can download the Extension by clicking here, Chrometana. Installing an extension is a piece of cake, and requires little to no effort.
Once the extension is installed, you have to choose your search engine of choice, and to put the extension to the test, simply do a “Hey Cortana” search by voice or text and the results will surprise you!
Searching through Cortana.

You will now see results on Google instead of Bing.

This is a handy extension that will be useful for those who actively use Cortana in Windows 10 and do rely on search results more often than naught. While Bing is still a good search engine, it still doesn’t have the efficacy and reliability of Google in many elements that are definitely on the wishlist of dedicated Windows 10 users.
Now that you have learned how to use Google with Cortana, this is an extension that you should keep a sharp eye out for. If you know any avid Windows 10 user who desires better search results, this is a recommended extension for you and others.
As a bonus, you can also use Cortana to directly carry out Google Easter Eggs, type or tell Cortana to “do a barrel roll” with the extension enabled, and you will meet a pleasant surprise. If you know any other useful extensions, do let me know in the comments section below!
