The need for changing IP address, sometimes, it is needed that we change IP address in Windows 10. This mostly happens when we are a part of a large organization like a college or a company and any change in IP policy might want us to change our machine’s IP address.

So, here are the steps on how to change IP address in Windows 10:

On the taskbar of your computer, right-click on the internet icon and click on “Open Network and Sharing Center”

Right Click on Network Icon and Select Open Network & Internet Settings

Next, you will come to the network settings screen. Click on the change adapter options.

Next, you will land on your network adapter page.

From there right-click on your WiFi Adapter and select properties. After that Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.

You will get a window like this.

You can either set the IP address manually or if you are connected to a public WiFi and are assigned an IP address automatically; you should keep the settings as above. Fill in the DNS details as and leave all the details the same as above. Then click on the Validate settings upon exit checkbox and then click on okay.

If this doesn’t work, you can also manually set IP addresses; refer your phones or other devices and check their IP addresses and fill the IP address with the precedent number.

For example:
IP address: for Device A that’s connected.
IP address for your device will be
Rest information should be identical in those fields.

After this;

Go to the desktop and right-click on the left-hand corner and click on run.

Enter ” cmd ” and click ok.

Now you will see a command prompt:
Type in ” ipconfig /release ” and press enter.

Post this type in ” ipconfig /renew ” and press enter.

After this restart your computer/laptop.
